What you can build

The editor never shows you a list of features, so here is one. Every entry below is something you can have by asking for it in the chat, in your own words. The quoted sentences are examples, not commands to memorize.

Things you can add to a page

A slideshow

Say "turn this image into a slideshow" or "add a slideshow to the top of the page". You pick the images for each slide, and you choose whether it advances on its own, shows arrows, shows dots, and how slides change over.

One trick worth knowing: turn off the arrows, dots and auto-advance and switch on start on a random slide, and you have a picture that is different on every visit. A photo of a different dish, a different project, a different room.

A form

"Add a contact form", "add a booking request form with a date field". Entries are kept for you and emailed to whoever you choose, and spam protection is already on with nothing to set up. The forms guide covers where entries go and who gets the email.

"Add a Services drop-down with Tax Prep and Bookkeeping under it", "take Blog out of the menu". Name the items and the change is made; the menu keeps the look it already has.

A video

"Put our welcome video here" with a YouTube or Vimeo link, or double-click an existing video to swap it.

A map

"Add a map showing our location". It uses the address on your site, or the one you give it.

A shop

"I want to sell gift cards on this page". Products, card payments, orders and discount codes are all covered in the selling guide.

A new section or page

"Add a section about our warranty" writes one in your site's style, right where it fits. "Add a careers page" creates the page, and the New button in the Files tab does the same by hand.

A downloadable file

"Link this button to our price list", then upload the PDF. Double-clicking any link offers the same choice.

A reusable piece

"Turn this section into a component I can use on other pages". Edit the component once and every page that shows it updates.

Pictures

Double-click any image to swap it. From there you can upload your own, search stock photos, or describe a picture and have it drawn for you. The images guide covers all three, and the logo guide covers getting a logo designed.

The chat can also fix a picture, not just replace it. "Trim the white edges off this logo", "cut the background out of this photo", "crop this tighter on the product".

Changing how things look

Click any element for a toolbar of its own controls: fonts, colors, background, spacing, border, size, position. Everything the toolbar does the chat can do too, plus the things a control cannot offer:

"Make the site's blue a deep green". One ask recolors it everywhere it appears, on every page.
"Use a more elegant font for headings."
"Give this section a soft gradient background."
"Make this page feel calmer" or "more energetic". You do not have to know which settings that means.
"Put the hours next to the phone number." Moving and rearranging is just asking.

Changes that reach the whole site

Select nothing and ask, and the chat works on the page you have open. But it can also work wider: "update the phone number everywhere it appears", "add the new tagline to the footer". The footer and header are shared, so one change lands on every page, and the editor tells you when that is happening.

If you are not sure it can do something

Ask anyway. Describing what you want in plain words is the whole interface, and the worst case is being told no. The What can I do here? card in the editor's menu is the short reference for the clicking-and-selecting side, and the editor guide explains how editing works end to end.

If it is not on this list at all

Some things are not a page change. A booking system, a searchable database of what you sell or rent, a members-only tool, a connection to software you already use. We build those to order and build them into your site, quoted first. See asking us to build something.
